Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate my age if I was born in a specific year?
Subtract your birth year from the current year (2026). If your birthday has already passed in 2026, that number is your age. If your birthday hasn't occurred yet, subtract one more. For example, born in 1990: 2026 − 1990 = 36. If your birthday passed, you are 36. If not, you are 35.
What is Korean age and how is it different from Western age?
Korean age is calculated differently from Western age. In the Korean system, everyone is 1 year old at birth, and everyone gains a year on January 1st (not on their birthday). So in 2026, your Korean age = 2026 − birth year + 1. A person born in 1990 is 37 in Korean age in 2026, regardless of their birthday month.
How many days old am I?
To find your approximate age in days, multiply your age in years by 365.25 (accounting for leap years). For example, someone who is 36 years old is approximately 36 × 365.25 = 13,149 days old. The exact number depends on your birth date and how many leap years fell in that period.
What generation am I if I was born in the 1980s or 1990s?
If you were born between 1981 and 1996, you are a Millennial. If born between 1965 and 1980, you are Generation X. If born between 1997 and 2012, you are Generation Z. Baby Boomers were born between 1946 and 1964.
What is the difference between age in years and age in months?
Age in years counts complete years since birth. Age in months counts the total months since birth. For example, someone who is 35 years and 6 months old is 35 years old but 426 months old (35 × 12 + 6 = 426). Age calculators often show both to give a more precise picture.
